Fishing Report: May 1st, 2018

Capt. Kirk went fishing with Capt. Tony Mathews last Friday. Conditions were pretty tough due to the 15 mph wind and strong tides making the drift difficult.
We used artificial baits exclusively with 6″ white flukes and suspending twitch baits as the best producers. We caught 8 trout, a flounder and 3 jacks.
The real excitement for the day was the 6 foot tarpon that tried to eat a 21″ trout right at the boat.
Fortunately, the tarpon turned away at the last minute and dinner was saved.
